Looks like it's going to be a girl after all!

For the last month, we have been looking at boy names, but from yesterday's check up, it looks like it's a girl. (the baby was facing downwards) So back to looking for names... :) I kinda do want another girl, coz although they are a night-mare when they are moody, temperamental teenagers, they are closer to their mummy and daddy when they are older. (aren't we girls?) But then I've never had a sister, so I don't know what's its like to have a sister, are they going to fight over the same guys? 3 hormonal female under the same roof??!!

Wow, it's nearly christmas, we haven't got anyone any chrissy presents yet and we are sooooooo broke!! New house, new furnitures... Yes, I got my 4 posted bed, they kids got their beds from IKEA, so all up for our room, kids room and our bathroom = 12K, over budget... again. BUT............. HOPEFULLY, we might get to move in just b4 Christmas THIS year. :p ( for those of you that don't remember, we were suppose to move in LAST Christmas. )

Will post some pictures of the b4 and after of the house.. soon, gosh I've got so much photos to catch up on... :p Oh and I still have the tag to finish too!

Movember

Gosh.. it's nearly the end of November already?! And since it's Movember, my dear hubby is a "Mo-bro" and is growing a mo. Blah! It's the only month that he is allowed! Coz I hate facial hair! Will get him to pose for a picture for my blog.

This time 5 years ago, my water had broken, I had went for my hair appointment and finally found a car-seat after 4 hours of searching the whole of Auckland, just got ready to meet up with my in-laws and going for my father's company dinner. (The whole story is here) My daughter is turning 5 tomorrow!

So I'm nearly 15 weeks pregnant! (I know.. I should really take a belly picture :p soon... soon!) I have been feeling the little one in me move for about 1 1/2 weeks now. Morning sickness was getting a little better, but yesterday it seems like it's all back again!! :( Today so far it's been good! (touch wood)

Missing in action..

I've been MIA for a little while, as I just cannot stand being in front of the computer for too long.. So I have not been blogging or visiting all the blogs that I miss so much.. sigh..

Last week I was actually feeling a little better, then we had to make an emergency trip out to KL, as hubby had a meeting. I came back with a head cold, luckily it only took me 3 days to get over it, unlike the previous cold that I had a month back that took me 1 1/2 weeks to get over. BUT.. morning sickness is BACK too!!! Blah~~~~

To all the blogs that I miss, I'm coming... wait for me!!!!

Importance of Magnesium.

A lot of ppl don't know that magnesium is actually a really important nutrient that our body needs a lot of. Magnesium is needed for over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body.

A lack of magnesium has actually been related with serious migraines, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, constipation and a lot more!

While it is commonly understood that the body needs calcium to build bones, but bones are a complex matrix of many different minerals and if all the required minerals are not present then strong bones cannot be built. As farm soil contains less and less of the required nutrient, dairy products now may contain calcium, but so little magnesium or other nutrients, this is one of the reason why osteoporosis is more evident in cow's milk drinking countries. 2ndly, dairy protein is very acidic and it necessitates the body to continually pulling more calcium from the bones to buffer this acidity, causing the bone to have even less nutrients to re-built or built new.

Magnesium is a precursor to an important substance in the body called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is necessary for connective tissue formation and helps maintain healthy joints, prevent skin wrinkles, prevent hernias and promote the healing of wounds and surgical incisions.

I've found this site that has liquid magnesium supplement, simply becoz liquid is simple to take and it is absorbed more quickly. :)

Yucky~

It's either I'm getting older and my body doesn't handle it well anymore, or this baby needs a lot of hormones to grow... I don't remember morning sickness to be this bad with the other 2 kids!!

I'm feeling so blah and yucky. Another 5 or more weeks of this?? Blah~~ Need a supply of Nux Vomica. Does anyone know where I can get some in Malaysia? :) If I were to order online, by the time it arrives, my morning sickness would probably be over.

How am I going to survive the next 5 or more weeks!!! Can't even stand to sit in front of the computer for more than 1/2 hours, sigh, haven't been able to visit all my fellow bloggers websites either... WHAT's happening to me!!!!

D-Day

Well.. it's been 2 weeks since my last visit to the doctors! I'm dragging my heels a little... Takut la! (Scared la) I know, I know, should just go and get it over and done with. I've been throwing up, left, right and center. That's a good sign right?? Enough hormones to go and make the baby grow! update: Just got back from the Dr's and we saw something twinkling!!! YAY!!! :)

Anyway.. On a lighter note, BamBam went for a casting for a Dumex ad on Thursday, it was a fun experience I can tell you that. I had to get him to pretend to sneeze, do a muscle man pose and sit on a beautiful lady's lap. You know think that the last one would be easy.. but NO~~ hehehe nothing is easy with kids! It took 2 1/2 hours of warming up for BamBam to do all 3!

There were lots of other kids there, all of them at about 2 years of age, so Caleb was a little older than the rest. I can just imagine what the other parents had to go through, but then it could be easier when they are younger as they are not as self-conscious.

But BamBam was one of the 1st to arrive on the scene and last to leave, and when he did all 3, especially the sneezing part, everyone on the set was cheering, even the Camera man (probably the director as well) was so happy that he came and wanted to give Caleb a big hand-shake to thank him. BamBam being BamBam, he was so self-conscious, that he had his hands on his waist and told everyone what he thought. "NO MORE AH-Choo! No More Ah-Choo!"

Update : Unfortunely, BamBam didn't get the part, as he was the oldest of them all, think about 1/2 year older than all the kids there. So he would have looked out of place. But overall it was a great experience. Hope to have more in the future and make us some money!!! hehehe :)

Generally just Blah~~

I'm just feeling pretty blah at the moment.. I've got so much to do, but just don't feel like doing anything!

I should really be studying, but can't seem to concentrate on whatever that has been written. Wanna write a blog post, but don't really feel like doing it (but I am doing it!! duh!!) But you know what I mean, I kinda wanna go to sleep, but every time I lie down, I just wanna get up and do something. And now that I'm sitting here, I feel like going to have a lie down.. argh!! I feel so confused and don't know what to do with myself, when I do know what to do with myself! BUT I really don't!!

HELP!!!

I asked for it!

Thanks for all the Congratulations, ladies and guy! :p

Yup.. I asked for it! And I got it! On the way to work yesterday, I had to make a stop at the drain b4 I got into the car, and Maddog had to make another stop by the side of the road half way to work. Maddog says that in a sadistic way I'm happy. Well yes... who in the right mind would wish to have a hangover that doesn't go away for at least 4 months, some even the whole 8 1/2 months, like my mum.

And yup.. I have got myself to the doctors! And ... it was still too early to detect a heartbeat! 2 more weeks of waiting and anxiety. The doctor says that it looks good and is the size that it is suppose to be in, and assured me that everything should be alright!

BUT I didn't throw up this morning!!! I don't know to be Thankful or Worried??!! Sigh.. Pregnant woman!! Hormones!! I guess having a bad cold doesn't help either! :p

update: See.. nappy brains already! Just got a 'Baaa..' from Aida, re the difference between the ms for the boy and the girl. It just reminded me about what else I was suppose to put on this post! hehehe Thank Aida~ ;p

So.. with Kaitlyn, my MS was from the time I wake up to when I have a proper breakfast, and the rest of the day is pretty smooth sailing, 'cept of I can't have anything with garlic, onion or oil! Which basically means EVERYTHING! hahaha And with BamBam, it was from 11 am onwards! So basically, I'm fine til I eat something, and it's all down hill from there! Whatever goes down, came up! :p So I have a feeling that this might be another Missy! hehehe We shall see!

Anxieties

I can't seem to shake this annoying feeling that has been nagging in the back of my mind!! As some of you may remember that I had an embryo that didn't have a heart beat in between my 1st and my 2nd.

That, I can tell you, was not a very pleasant experience, (I know it is a common thing now, almost everyone I know has gone through it, still it is NOT pleasant!) ... Anyhow, in the first 4 months of being pregnant with #2, I think I thought of every excuse to go to the doctors every 2 weeks to make sure that it was all good! Just so that I could sleep well at night. Now.. it's back to that again.. I'm very anxious about this one again! Simple becoz, other than feeling a little blah now and then, I don't have much of any morning sickness! (Neither did I with the one in between)

So no, I have yet been to the doctors, I know the heart should start beating sometime this week or next, (deep breath) so.... ARGh!!! I don't know to go tomorrow, get it checked out and get it over and done with, OR to wait another week (while I put more negative energy into myself, while waiting). BLAH~~~~~

Round 3!

Well.. We did a test yesterday and it turns out positive, so it looks like we are going for a 'Round 3'!! Was actually planning for 080808, but thought it was a little too soon, so was going for 090909 instead. But looks like we are going to have to settle for 080508.

Maddog was in shock the whole day yesterday, but he is slowly warming up to the thought of having 3 kids. #1, wants a little girl to be her toy, and as for #2, he doesn't know any difference at the moment. So... MY gosh.. #3!! I was kinda panicking yesterday, thinking about things like, I've only got two legs, one for each child at the moment, where is the other going to be sitting? And my 2 kids are already fighting over which side to sleep next to me on, WHERE is the 3rd one going to be sleeping??

My 4 posted bed will have to wait a little while longer again as we can't afford that and a new baby!!

I was just getting use to my new found freedom, now back to 3 years of mothering!

Blah~ Blah~ Blah~ Tell me it's just my hormones talking?? I have been wanting another kid! 4 more even!! hahaha

Merdeka!

It was the 50th anniversary of Malaysia's Merdeka yesterday. And also the 17th anniversary of My Merdeka! Breaking myself off from Malaysia to the Land of the Long White Clouds. My gosh.... It was 17 years ago when I touched down in NZ with my family.. 17 years ago! Wow...

I still remember the flight like it was just yesterday, when we first step foot on NZ soil! Going into the beginning of autumn, feeling that cold wind on blowing on the face! Going home to a new house, starting all over in a new school and getting use to not having 2 maids to clean up after me. Wow.. 17 years ago...

That was when my teachers where always surprise that I could speak English, but still ask me questions very slowly. And people were always asking me "Where is Malaysia". It never ceases to amaze me that they know where Thailand is and where Singapore is, but don't know where Malaysia is. Wow, 17 years ago....

Organic All The Way!

There is a new world-wide movement towards Organic Food. Some think it's a phase, some think it's the new revolution. Well, after my studies, my conclusion is... Organic is the only way to live!

I'm sure everyone has read all the news about China putting lots of 'things' that are not supposed to be in products, especially food products that are putting people in comas, getting them sick and so on. Some would argue that with the pollution that is all around us, in the soil that our food is grown in, in the air that we breath everyday and in the water that we drink, bath and cook, we are condemned. Yes it is very hard to avoid toxins entering our body. And when toxins build up in our body, they cause conditions like migraines, constipation, indigestion, fatigue, to even more serious diseases like Alzheimer's or even Cancer! Why do you think there are so many people with cancer in today's society? Certainly, environmental factors must be a reason, if not a cause. So the fewer toxins we put into our bodies, the better. Our bodies can handle and cleanse a certain amount, but when we overload ourselves, we breakdown.

So I'm all for organic products! I am definitely not one to put chemicals on my skin, do we really know what is used in these skin care products?? What sort of chemicals? So yes, I'm all for organic skin care too. Don't forget organic health products and organic vitamins. So... I am sold on Organic for the rest of my life!

(brought to you by your friends at LiveLifeOrganic!)

Kids say the funniest things!

The kids were in our bed last night, as there was a storm outside, and daddy was reading them a book, about planes. It has lots of pictures of the different kind of flying aircrafts. So daddy, as the pilot he is, was telling them how fast the plane can fly and how low. Suddenly, our little Missy said 'It will mess up my hair then.' I'm like ...????!!!!... If you know me, I'm one that doesn't put make up on, not even lip-sticks or one that fusses with me hair. So it totally blows me away that my daughter, 4 years old, knows how to put on lip-sticks, perfectly, better than mummy(hehehe).

And the other day, while we were all in the car driving over to Ipoh (1 1/2hrs drive), BamBam was a little irritated and had been screaming, he wanted out from his car seat, so my MIL and I were trying to distract him by pointing out to trucks and lorries on the road sides. " Look! Truck! Look! Lorry!" Then suddenly BamBam turned and looked at MIL, "No Fruck! No Wor-ry". He had everyone in tears!!!

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed.
She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice,
"Mummy, will you sleep with me tonight?"
The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug.
"I can't dear," she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room."
A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice:
"The big sissy."

A little boy was doing his math homework. He said to himself,
"Two plus five, that son of a bitch is seven.
Three plus six, that son of a bitch is nine...."
His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, "What are you doing?"
The little boy answered, "I'm doing my math homework, Mum."
"And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?" the mother asked
"Yes," he answered.
Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, "What are youteaching my son in math?"
The teacher replied, "Right now, we are learning addition."
The mother asked, "And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a bitch is four?"
After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered,
"What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four."

A small boy is sent to bed by his father. Five minutes later.... "Da-ad...."
"What?"
"I'm thirsty. Can you bring a drink of water?"
"No, You had your chance. Lights out."
Five minutes later: "Da-aaaad....."
"WHAT?"
"I'm THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water??"
I told you NO! If you ask again, I'll have to smack you!!"
Five minutes later......"Daaaa-aaaad....."
"WHAT!"
"When you come in to smack me, can you bring a drink of water?"

SorryLand Or HappyLand, Still ChiwiLand is the best

America is well known as the 'SueU land', becoz they sue everyone for every right that they have.

And then you have 'Sorry land', becoz they are made to be sorry for every right that they have.

There is a 24 year old out there that put his talent to work and made a 'creative' song/rap about a country. He has been asked to apologise to 'the ppl' of that country and so he has, but some 50 year old man has said that the apology is not accepted! How sad is that? Politics, I'll never fully understand ppl in it!

There is an enormous amount of hypocrisy going around - do as I say, not as I do - and it's puerile and immature. There needs to be a fundamental shift in focus from what is the problem, to what is the solution. We all know that the government is corrupt and lazy. The focus should now be on what is the best positive step to take, ignoring the nay-sayers and moving actively towards a position of happiness and light. Only this will bring us out of the negative energy we seem to be stuck in.

Energy flows where attention goes. Continue focusing on negativity and harmful issues, and that's precisely what you will attract.

I've learned quite a bit about taking pictures and lighting from 'Dad' this trip. And they brought us 'The Secret'... :)

Puff the Magic Dragon...

hehehe I feel like I need to 'puff the magic dragon' to keep up, or slow down with all that has been happening.

We got out to One World Hotel in one piece, checked in at about 2 pm, took the kids out to lunch. BAH.. Bambam is one hyper kid! 2 hours of DRAGGING, PULLING, YELLING, TREATENING him around through the shops, we decided to go back to the room and bath them, plus we were Tired!!! Gosh, how do parents take their kids out shopping?!?! It's totally impossible!!

By the time we noticed the time, it was 6:45pm!! We were suppose to grab the kids some dinner b4 we take the hour's drive out the the airport. Their plane is to arrive around 8pm. So we packed the kids, went downstairs, got some MacD's nuggets, Murphy's law, there HAD to be a long, loooong queue. We finally got the the car by 7:30pm, packed the kids in and off we went....

Maddog was pretty confident about getting to the airport, he had asked the concierge at the hotel. 'Thou he was given the 'Malaysian directions', he thought he would just remember the big names like 'NKVE', 'Klang','KLIA'. We thought 'Ok, this is the big city, there HAVE to be road signs showing the way to KLIA' .. well, wasn't long till we were lost in Klang somewhere, heading back back up NORTH! Pretty much on the way HOME! Not home as in the hotel we were staying at, but home as in HOME, where our house is! PANIC Stations, I mean, Petrol station! to ask for directions. We had to stop in 2 b4 we finally saw a signboard with the words 'KLIA'. And then it was foot the the pedal, 140 km/hr to the airport! Got there 8:50pm. Not very nice to leave his parents sitting in the arrival lounge, after a 10 hour flight, with no way of contacting us. Thank goodness the flight was delayed 20 mins, so we were EARLY. Going back to the hotel was totally easy. Maybe it's a conspiracy to hold ppl back in Malaysia?? hehehe

Anyway, was suppose to meet up with some friends before we head back home, somehow, didn't manage to do anything at all. Think we were all pretty tired and jet lagged! DIDN'T even finish IKEA!! Shocking!!! lol

Anyway.. I'm trying to finish my last paper for Nutritional Therapy, YUP still haven't been able to finish it yet!! Argh.. got to get back to it...

World Famous In New Zealand, In Malaysia

The Winns are Coming!! My Parents in law are really, really, really going to be here!!!! THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!! I'm ecstatic! They are finally going to be here!!

So I thought while they are here, maybe I could commission my father-in-law, Terry Winn, out! So you Malaysians out there... If you or anyone you know wants to have their family portrait done. 8 things about me...

“Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people and then visits those peoples’ sites and comments letting them know that they have been tagged, and to come read the post, so they know what they have to do.”

The 8 things are.....

  1. I'm studying again... Just finishing up my diploma in Nutritional Therapy.
  2. I love to take photos, maybe one day I'll be a famous photographer?
  3. I'm a perfectionist! It takes me so long to get started in something, becoz I'm busy thinking of ways to make it perfect!
  4. So.. that makes me a sore failure! I don't tempt to fight battles that I know I'll lose in.
  5. I love~~~ food! Take me around the world and show me all sort of food!
  6. I still live with my parents! 90% of that is great!
  7. I'm into the holistic side of life! Ommm..
  8. I've got a really low self-esteem. But who doesn't ?
I'm tagging Who ever that wants to be tagged with this.. Leave a Moo-Moo when you have so that I know who did it! Thanks!

Little Man...

My little man says the sweetest thing ever! :p

In bed last night, little man sleeps with us, Kaitlyn only falls asleep with us, then we move her to her bed in my parents room, unfortunately our room is not big enough for the 4 of us. Can't wait to move into the new house where the kids will have a room to themselve, but I can just see Bambam ending up in our bed as usual by 4 am.

Anyway.. last night, when I was kissing the kids good night, as I said 'I love you' to Bambam, he replied with a big grin on his face, as he gave me his cheek, 'thank you, mummy' Awwwww... my heart just melted away..

BP factory in Whiting, Indiana

Wow.. Yes this is a PayPerPost, I normally just skip through the post once I know it's a PPP. But You do learn stuff from some of these PPPs. Like this...

Did you know that the Whiting Refinery has served it's community for 117 years now, producing gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.

Did you know that BP is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of their actions. Bp is working with federal, state and local elected officials, regulators, community and environmental organizations and communities to develop comprehensive, environmentally sound plans.

BP plans to spend more than $3 billion to modernize the Whiting Refinery's energy security and diversity. They are also investing about $150 million to enhance the refinery's wastewater treatment capability. So only treated water is going into Lake Michigan.

I've been to Lake Michigan. And I would love to go back again one day, and would definitely love to jump in and swim in it! So I definitely do not want to jump into sludge.

Exciting News!!

  1. My little girl walks to her class without being shy anymore!!!!! So it must be a good sign that she is liking her new Kindie! It's the same Kindergarten that I went to, and both my old teachers are still there!! AMAZING! Not too sure about the son thou, he still is crying a bit when we leave him there, Maddog says it's just separation-anxiety. I don't know... Maybe we can still hold on to him for a little longer...
  2. My parents-in-law(PIL) could be here in about 10 days!!! Finally, maybe, after 4 1/2 years of us being here, they might actually make it, this time. Still waiting for the point to go thru with MAS airline, and that can be a little bit of a problem. It took them 3 months the last time, they promised 7 working days this time. BUT if it's on Malaysia's rubber clock, it might take a little longer! Fingers crossed!
  3. Am down to my last 2 assignments with my Nutritional Therapy course. And of coz the big EXAM! Hope to get it done b4 the PIL arrive!

Kinder Garden..

I honestly don't understand where 'childhood' is going in this country.. My 4 1/2 years old hates school.. She is coming home, and saying things like ' I don't want to do my homework. Just leave me alone, I wanna be stupid.' I was guilty of falling into the trap this 'childhood system of Malaysia'. Thinking 'Shit, is my child really that stupid?'

Honestly... my daughter is coming home with homework of a 7 years old. Where they want her to re-arrange sentences. HELLO~~~ She knows her alphabet, but she still can't read the words yet! SO..

  1. They either me to do her homework for her. (which goes against 'the books') OR
  2. My daughter is slow.. other kids her age in school must know how to do this!!??????
They are learning 'ATOM' and 'Molecules' in school at 4 1/2. She comes home with at least 3 books of homework everyday!

I thought childhood and kindergarten are supposed to be fun! Where a child learns their social skills and blossoms! NOT a place where if she is not an Einstein, she is considered slow or stupid. Why should anyone care if she is colouring over the line?!? Thinking within a box!? Did Einstein or any other genius out there that we know of do that??

I totally stopped when I saw the MACBOOK! What I love most about it is what IT can do to pictures!! BUT... it cost an arm and a leg, I don't have much of those to exchange for ONE at the moment.. sigh... I can't continue to concentrate on my studies without it... Honestly.. How do we do this you ask? The time has been set for July 17, 2007 at 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time. I have been given no indication about why this date and time have been chosen, but this date has been told to me over and over again. I have been asked to bring together as many humans as possible, throughout the world from every corner of the globe, to simply sit and pray or meditate for one hour during that time. Hopefully, with your help, we will amass a union of humans, such as the world has never seen. Loving humans with one intention - to heal our planet and awaken our souls to our true purpose… to become one with our Source of Light.

You wanna know more about it.. go to Fire the Grid
We can make a difference I believe!

H20 - are you drinking enough!

Water is very important! Because two-thirds of the body consists of water, which naturally means that it is the most important nutrient. Water is in all body tissue and every cell, two thirds of the body’s water is situated inside the cells and the rest outside the cells in the tissue. Even bones consist of one third of water and muscle and brain cells are made up of seventy one per cent of water. One point five litres of water are lost per day through the skin, the bowel, and the lungs and via the kidneys as urine; this ensures the toxins are eliminated from the body. The body also produces a third of a litre a day of water when glucose is burnt for energy. Therefore the human body needs a minimum of 1 litre a day preferably 2 litres a day.

No change takes place with water within the human body but it is absolutely essential for the vital functioning of the body and its various organs. The circulatory system is especially dependant on water.

Water is only beverage that really quenches the thirst!

Vegetables and fruit consist of about ninety per cent water, this is a great way for the body to get water as they supply it in a form that is very easy for the body to use, at the same time they also supply vital minerals and vitamins. Alcohol, tea and coffee are diuretics that cause the body to lose water and they also deplete the body of vital vitamins, this is why coffee, tea and alcohol are not a viable source of liquid intake.

The most important functions of water are, to help the body use essential nutrients and to move nutrients and oxygen from the blood to the cells and to get waste material from the cells back to the blood so that they can be removed from the body. Other functions for water within the body are to regulate body temperature, to give cell shape and form, to protect certain body organs, lubricate joints and other areas and to maintain performance.

The amount of water the body needs depends on the diet, consuming unhealthy foods such as large amounts of meat, diary, salt and spices needs more water to cleanse the system. On the other hand, consuming large amounts fruit and vegetable will lead to the body needing less water as fruit and vegetable consist of large amounts of water.

The skin is an important organ of elimination; it eliminates not only normal body waste but poisons and toxins such as sodium chloride, urea, lactic acid, and potassium. These are all eliminated through sweat which is near one hundred per cent water.

Through the wear and tear of every day living, tiny amounts of living tissue are destroyed within the body. These dead tissues have a poisonous effect on the body and need to be removed; pure water dissolves these poisons on contact where they can later be expelled by the other organs of elimination – the lungs, skin, liver and kidneys.

Water is a vital part of the digestion process, it dissolves nutritive material in the process of digestion so that the nutrients can be absorbed by the blood and carried to the cells and tissues of the body where they are needed.

Water keeps the mucous membranes of the body in a soft condition preventing friction on their surfaces.

When water is drunk, some of it is absorbed through the intestines into the bloodstream increasing its volume. This increases the circulation by making the blood more fluid. When blood volume is increased, more water comes into contact with the body’s waste material in every part of the body. This results in more waste being removed; this is illustrated by the increase in urinary output and perspiration.

Drinking a lot of water increases elimination by the intestinal tract mucous membrane lining. This results in the contents of the intestinal tract becoming more fluid which intern helps with problems such as constipation. It also cleanses the blood from its toxic waste which leaves the blood cleaner to build tissues. In this way water both helps with repair and elimination.

In conclusion, water is so important in diets because it purifies and bathes the blood and tissues which enables the body to be cleansed from poisons and waste material. Water dissolves toxic material and foreign elements within the blood aiding their elimination through faeces, urine, sweat and the lungs. Water is also a vital part of the body’s cells, tissues and body’s fluids. Because water is such a vital part of the proper functioning of the body, it also becomes a vital part in any therapeutic diet or treatment. Not only is water use therapeutic in diet but it can be also used therapeutically in baths and in other water treatments, this is known as hydrotherapy.

Drug Rehab

With all the stress and luxury in life today, it's really easy for someone to get addicted to things! Things like chocolate, sex, alchomohol, recreational drugs, coka-cola, coffee... you name it. I know ppl that have headaches if they don't have their coffees in the morning. Ppl that gets really really moody going without sex for 2 days.

addiction : "the loss of control and compulsive use of mind-altering chemical(s) coupled with the inability to stop the use in spite of the fact that such use is causing problems with one's life. Addiction can be a physical and/or psychological dependence of a chemical substance."
For someone to admit to addiction is always the first step! Following thru is another thing. I guess that's when a rehab center comes in handy! They not only provide you with drug treatments, but most importantly they give you supports and understanding that no one else can.

Stress .. need holiday...

Take a remarkable journey back in time to experience true, old-fashioned Americana and Ozark splendor. Silver Dollar City boasts over 30 rides and attractions, but what makes this theme park truly unique is the dozens of craftsman that practice the same skills used by the residents of the Ozarks in the late 19th century, from metal crafting to baking.

Wow.. and it's cheap too.. in American dollars.. Sigh.. but it's so far away!!! :)

Stress = Weight Gain!

The adrenal glands sit atop the kidneys and produce hormones that, amongst other things, help us to adapt to stress. The hormones adrenalin, cortisol and DHEA allow us to respond to an emergency by channelling the body’s energy towards being able to ‘fight or take flight’, improving oxygen and glucose supply to the muscles, and generating physical and mental energy. This effect helped our previous ancestors to cope with truly life-threatening situations. During a stress reaction, the blood thickens in order to help wounds to heal. In modern life all this occurs when you get stuck in a traffic jam, receive bad news or arguing with your spouse. Tea, coffee, cigarettes and chocolate have a similar effect as they contain caffeine, theobromine, nicotine or theophylline. These compounds stimulate the release of adrenaline.

However, this instant energy has some downsides. The body slows down digestion, maintenance and repair so that it can channel energy into dealing with whatever is causing the stress. The consequence of prolonged stress is associated with speeding up the ageing process, several diseases of the digestive tract and the balance of hormones in general.

If you live off stimulants such as coffee and cigarettes, high-sugar diets and stress itself, you increase your risk of unbalancing thyroid function. This causes the metabolism to slow down with weight-gain the result. Calcium imbalance is a risk – resulting in arthritis and problems associated with sex hormones. These are the long-term side-effects of prolonged stress, because any body system that is over-stimulated will eventually under-function.

Certain nutrients are required for stress hormone production. For adrenalin sufficient vitamins B3 (niacin), B12 and C are necessary. The natural anti-inflammatory cortisol has its production seriously halted without sufficient vitamin B5. The need for all these nutrients, together with those required for energy production such as vitamins B and C is elevated with prolonged stress.

Stress control!

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers called out ranged from 8 ounces to 20 ounces.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.

"In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on.

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.

"Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

Balancing Your health.

How you would balance acid and alkali on an everyday basis?

Our everyday diet consists of acid-forming and alkaline forming foods. However with today's society the normal diet consists of far too much meat, fat and sugar and not enough vegetables and fruit. Therefore we consume too much acid forming food rather than alkaline forming food. A lot of health conditions are caused by long-term acid/alkaline imbalance; in another words, it is important to maintain a neutral balance if we want to live healthily.

The following are simple ways to reduce the acidity of your system.
(With foodstuffs, one would never go wrong with 80% alkaline-forming food, and 20% acid-forming food.)

  1. Avoid carbonated drinks. Carbon Dioxide is second to none when it comes to acidifying your system.

  2. No Sugar. It has no nutritional value at all, and when you use too much sugar, it acts basically like a poison to your system. Supposed 'health foods' which contain sugar are simply not healthy for you. Sugar is one of the main causes for a permanent disruption of the acid/alkaline balance and is responsible for a large number of other health problems like obesity, candida and diabetes.

  3. Drink water. Mineral water. Not tap water, as it normally contains chemicals that will add to the acidity of your system. If you have a blender, fresh fruit or vegetable juice is almost excellent. NOT the pre-made stuff from the supermarket - they contain too much sugar!

  4. Exercise and sleep. Regular exercise lets the body eliminate more acid from the body. Get enough sleep. Your body eliminates acid while you sleep. The less you sleep, the less acid you eliminate.

  5. As people age, the digestive system weakens. The result can be nutritional deficiencies in the body, even when the diet is adequate. It is not just what you eat, but what you absorb that is important. To improve your digestion, it may be helpful to take supplementary hydrochloric acid (in the form of 'betaine hydrochloride'), digestive enzymes and bile with each meal. Bromelain, the enzyme in fresh pineapple, is very helpful. I suggest eating fresh pineapple regularly.

  6. Stay away from aluminium. This will increase your zeta potential, which is the negative overall charge of your blood. Since blood is a colloidal solution, this charge is important in that it keeps the cells and nutrients in suspension. Aluminium reduces the zeta potential in your system.

Supplements that are strongly alkaline like calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium should be taken. Calcium needs vitamin D in order to be absorbed and utilised and also vitamin C tablets to help calcium dissolve faster. Magnesium, found in green leafy plants, which today's people don't take a lot of, should be taken twice as much as the calcium supplement. Therefore we need to increase the amount of green vegetables and fruit in our diets. But then, this is nothing new, as doctors and nutritionists have been telling us this for years!

Acid and Alkali

Did you know that if your saliva pH is lower than 7( which also means that your saliva is too acidic, that you are more likely to have cancer!

Which list are you consuming more of??
A. 20% of List A and 80% of List B.(roughly)
B. 20% of List B and 80% of List A.(roughly)

I definitely fall into the catergory of A. What about you?

Eczema

Eczema/or any form of rashes, is a way our body expels toxins, when the liver and kidney cannot handle it anymore, becoz they themselves are overloaded with toxins. GPs normally will dispense hydrocortisol, and even antibiotics ( and you know how I feel about those things). Anyway.. need I repeat again that the above would only suppress the eruption and drive more toxins inward, and may even result in something else, or the rashesto surface somewhere else.

Detox is again the best solution here. Of coz it would be hard for younger children to do, or even go thru a detox.. So here are some things that you can consider... Vit B complex, E, D Kelp, Zinc, Biotin. Herbs such as chaparral, goldenseal, dandelion & myrrh. Eat a high fibre diet, avoid ALL DAIRY, proccessed food, fats &food with raw eggs - as they all contain avidin which stops biotin from being absorbed. AND not to forget plenty of clean water!!!

VACATIONS!!

Ok.. I know I can't go on any vacations at the moment, but GOSH... I would love to take my kids to Walt Disney World, I bet Maddog would love to visit Kennedy Space Centre on the Atlantic Coast. Orlando vacation home looks great! I especially love this one!! SO many places to go, so many things to see, so many ppl to do. Opps.. did I say that out loud.

Blogger's meat! I mean meet.

I took the opportunity to steal these beautiful pictures from our one and only Ms. HijackQueen. We had the pleasure of meeting up with her and 'her family' basically her sisterssss.. 4, including herself, out of 6 sisters! Can you just imagine that household during gatherings??? What fun!! I wish I had such a huge family!
Anyway.. the picture above is our breakfast, every morning, "lu mein"&"kampuang mein" (so Monkeywong, you have to come try, these are much better than your "kolo mee")

This little cutie of a boy is little Ms HijackQueen's Prince. He is so cute! He goes and introduce our little Ms Pebbles as his girlfriend to his dad. "Daddy, this is my girlfriend" he says!

Here is a little group picture of all the blogger geeks. :p
Mrs(1 of HijackQueen's many sisters) and Mr KimmySia, HijackQueen, Maddog, and myself.
Again I would like to clearify that, no we are not wearing a 'ching-nu-cuang', this is our uniform for the shop on Saturdays!

Tox-Sins!!

Oh my goodness.. I know we are surrounded by cancer producing substances, but I never knew there are so much!

Here is my first essay!

In today's world of technology and advanced research, almost everyone I know embraces suppressive treatments. "Suppressive treatments" allow the human body to have a quick fix, an instant relief from pain, from discomfort, and with that instant relief, we put the body back to work instead of spending time letting the body recover, build its own anti-bodies, or dispose all that is unwanted in the body by itself. Not only do we not let the body run its own course, but by using these suppressive treatments we are effectively driving the problem deeper within the body and building up more toxins where increased harm can occur.

Antibiotics are used very often with all allopathic treatments. These antibiotics, though life-saving in certain circumstances, also create major suppressive activity within the body. Antibiotics are designed to kill bacteria, beneficial and non-beneficial bacteria alike. It also inevitably changes the status of bowel flora throughout the digestive tract, always in a detrimental manner. Not to forget, antibiotics themselves are chemically produced toxins which are by nature, foreign and therefore detrimental to the whole body-system and long-term health - in way of not letting the body fight diseases or infections itself (of course, in life-threatening situations, urgent and vigorous treatment might be required).

Also, when suppressive treatments are applied, the 'toxin-alert' from the body is made silent. Usually, the patient simply hasn't realised how loud the warning signs were. Were a patient to understand and listen to one's body, these signs would be heard and curative healing would be used instead.

This modern society that we live in today, pollution and toxins are everywhere, in everything that we touch, in everything that we eat or drink and in the air that we breath. Toxins like lead, mercury, arsenic, carbon monoxide, nickel, nitrogen oxide, flouride, selenium.. just to name a few are everywhere. There is no way of avoiding toxins or chemicals from entering the body.

Studies from over the years have shown that toxins and chemicals have been connected to a vast number of symptoms, disabilities, illnesses and 'imbalances'. The principle factors that determine how toxic our organs are is shown by how severe and often symptoms occur. Symptoms like headaches, muscle pains, tremors, constipation, dizziness, anaemia, indigestion, fatigue, poor skin tone and changes in co-ordination, just to name a few.

Toxins not only build up in one organ but several, and if toxins are left in the body to accumulate further serious problems and dis-eases can and probably will result from it. Hemotoxicity (toxins in the blood cells) can cause anaemia and leukemia, among others; from Hepatotoxicity (toxins in the liver) we can get Gall stones, cirrhosis or fibrosis of the liver, and in extreme cases, liver failure; Nephrotoxicity (toxins in kidneys) kidney stones and ultimately acute renal failure; ARDS (also known as acute pneumonia), asthma and lung cancer from Pulmonotoxicity (toxins in the lungs); skin cancers and severe dermatitis from Dermotoxicity(skin toxins); Brain and spinal cord damage, sensory and motor control and the nervous systems nearing breakdown from Neurotoxicity(toxins in the brain).

In serious cases of the patient ignoring the toxic warning signs, the body may shut an organ or system down to attract attention to the toxins. Often, patients are little more than 'vertically-ill', a term used to describe people who are still able to be more or less fit for work and life in general - but without vitality or a youthful sense of energy. After this they become 'horizontally-ill', whereby the body has basically decided to shut down an organ or system in order to attract the attention it requires.

Obviously, living life in a state any less than in optimal health, with vitality, is not desirable. However, in today's world of stresses and toxic pollutants everywhere, it is difficult for many to be quiet enough to 'hear' their body's warning signals, much to their detriment.

~Old Irish Text~

Time is what I need! I have tried to finish my 3rd assignment for 3 days now! Haven't had a chance to sit down to think!!! Argh!!!!! So frustrated!!

Every chance I get to sit down in front of the computer, "Dee, can you call this company to order this"; sits down less then 2 mins ; "You've got a call from so-and-so company" ; Sits down (1 min); "Mummy, can you come and teach me my homework"; sits down; "Kak, got customer wants to check eyes" 2 hours later; sits down; "Mummy, BamBam Susu(milk)" !!! ARGH!!! I don't know how to time manage this!

I finish work at 8, by the time I get home, have dinner, shower, it's already 9pm... play with the kids for a while, put them to sleep, Kaitlyn is good, she sleeps latest by 10:30, but BamBam!!! That night owl doesn't go down til i switch off all the lights and stay really quiet at 11pm, any sooner he would play and play and play! By that time I'm DONE! I can't take 2 hours off work or from my kids to study during the day time! Well I can, but I've got NO where to go. Work is where my computer is, and also where my kids are.

Any suggestions ppl?? I need help!!!

Yay!! The Payperpost bunch of great brains, have came up with a better way to help us blogger make more $$$ blogging. Wanna know how they are doing this? Simply by cutting out the middle man, so letting the advertiser themselves select the blogger to posts their message. Therefore, the blogger keeps more of the advertising $$$.

Most of these companies, they put a 50% to 100% markup on the blogger’s post. (Payperpost has been charging 35% ) Now with Payperpost Direct the service charge is now only 10% and 1/2 of that goes to Paypal/credit card fees.

Payperpost will then have a directory for the advertiser of all their bloggers registered. They also provide us bloggers with a widget like this one <span class=PPP Direct" border="0"> to place on the site.

The advertisers then visit the blogs and choose to hire or not hire the blogger, I guess that helps drives up the stat figures too! hehehe

Still don't understand? What this then.

I wanted to put my rate on 6.88 (road to prosperity! hehehe) but can't, so I'll leave it at 7. Maybe one day I will be good enough to raise it up to 35?? hehehe

Wanna Get paid to blog?? What are you waiting for?? ;p

Back to Basic

I've always like to help ppl.. and I've always been interested in the health side of things, I've thought about being a midwife(but I don't know about staying with someone for 29 hours during labour!); I've thought being a doctor (but I don't have the self-discipline to finish, how many years of studies??!! I don't know how you do it Anna, with 2 kids under 5!! Plus I don't really like to chemicals they put into ppl.)

My great grandfather was a pharmacist, during his time, he was very well known and respected, he even made his own Chinese/herbal medicine too. I once went to a psychic and she told me that my great grandfather is asking me to go back into Chinese medicine and bring back the glory(ok,ok.. I added the glory part myself! hehehe) And ever since then, it's always been at the back of my mind.

Well, I've dug it out and dusted it, and am looking into it now.. So I'm going to take the course of 'Nutrition Therapy'. Should take about 3 months to complete (fingers crossed) Then will take up a diploma in Clinical Herbalism, am also really interested in Iridology, since I look into ppl's eye everyday anyway! :) All up it looks like it's going to cost me about RM8k. As they are all certs from UK.

What am I going to do with all these Certs when I finish? I don't know yet... Maybe it would come in useful one day.

1 dollar insurance

Wow.. I think I need to apply for a Green Card to America.. They have a lot of good deals for a lot of things like this Globe Insurance. Just 1 Dollar, and could pay up to 50k!!! That's a bloody good deal! *no pun intended! (Maddog can tell you that I don't use that word 'bl**dy much, but this calls for it!)

That reminds me I need to look into getting some insurance for my kids... sigh.. another pocket emptying exercise.

Alchomohol ...

Ever woke up in the morning with a very very bad hangover?? Looking for hangover cures.. Fear no more, for here comes The Cure, the after drinking drink! And it's all Natural! :)

I've never really had any experiences of hangovers, I guess I'm one of those lucky ones, but then, I've always been the one driving, so have never really drank that much. Plus when I do drink a lot I get really kissy-kissy. So not a really good idea...

Should we flee?

What I feared most is here .. It was in yesterday's newpapers..

PUTRAJAYA: A case of the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian flu strain has been detected in a village in Sg Buloh, the first incident in Malaysia after the outbreak in March last year.
And today's newspaper..
PETALING JAYA: Five people have been admitted for observation at the Sungai Buloh Hospital after coming down with fever in the wake of the bird flu outbreak at Kampung Paya Jaras Hilir near Sungai Buloh.
Why do I fear it so much? Well.. it's becoz my family is surrounded by birds, swiftlet. Every building that is more than 2 stories high around here, are all converted to be Swiftlet 'hotel', (and ppl are building more everyday) so they can harvest the bird's nest. Yes it make lots of money! (35k a month of each floor I heard.) IT also makes lots of bird droppings and flies too!!!!

Swiftlet are among the most aerial of birds, flying almost constantly except when at the nest or roosting at night. During the day, you don't see a single one around, becoz they tend to like the cooler weather, so they would fly to the highest mountain, and these birds can FLY!

We are literally surrounded by all these 'Swiftlet Hotels'. They are everywhere!! There are MILLIONS of them flying around every morning and evening!!!!!!!!

There should be laws against having these 'Swiftlet Hotels' in commercial and residential areas, as they are really filthy, hazarded to health and with bird flu everywhere... can you just imagine????
